"Netjer's punishing me for (insert misfortune here)!" I've seen and heard of people saying and believing this. Hell, even I've done it. I've thought that something going wrong was somehow my fault or the work of Netjer's Hand. Sometimes, even the majority of them are our fault. And many people give God the blame. God is punishing me gives the power in the situation to God, alone. This makes you helpless, a victim of Netjer's wrath and of course, out of your control. How could anyone control Netjer's rage? God is so vast and out there that It is beyond us. It's out of our hands. Wrong. Your mess is not God's fault. It's yours. Own it. Accept it. Then fix it. Mend it anyway you can. Then move on. That's definitely easier written then done. It takes work to be responsible for your actions and decisions. It takes effort to work on ourselves and let go what is already gone. But what if you really did tick off one of the Netjeru? Okay. That's possible. And they will not punish you unnecessarily. But they will punish you for something you did. Your mistake is not Netjer's fault. It's Yours. Get off your ass and give an offering to that offended Netjer. Fix the situation. Then move on. Another factor in this is unhealthy fear. Either God is beyond our reach or Netjer is so powerful that the first emotion we have associated with It is dread. Netjer in whatever Manifestation you worship Him/Her/It as, made you. You are It's child. And belovedly so. Why should we fear that which called us into being? We shouldn't. Approaching Netjer with honor, respect, love, devotion and even awe are healthy ways to approach the supernatural. Not fear. Fear strips us of ourselves and since Netjer made us how and who we are, inhibiting our own growth--our own souls-- isn't exalting God. It's deifying fear. And it's not healthy. Whatever harms us, harms Netjer. If we hurt ourselves, we are slapping Netjer in the face--for making us, for forming us, for loving us. Hating ourselves is the same as hating God for we are modeled in the Image of Netjer. Our traits that are predominant in us we share and got from our Parent Netjeru. They do not hate us. They do not want us to cower in fear of Them or ourselves. They love us. We should too.
