1 cup dry Navy Beans Directions Rinse beans. In large saucepan combine beans and 4 cups water. Bring to boiling, reduce heat. Simmer for two minutes. remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Drain and rinse beans. In same pan combine beans, pork bits, and all other ingredieints. Add 4 cups fresh water. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer till beans are tender. Remove meat. When cool enough to handle take meat off bones. Coarsely chop meat. Discard bones and bay leaf. Return meat to sauce pan. Heat through. Serves 5-8.
