White glogg

Ingredients

2 fresh kumquats
1 fresh organic lemon (it's important it hasn't gotten surface treatment)
1 piece of dried ginger
1 stick of cinnamon
1 vanilla pod
3 dl sugar
2 dl water
2 dl white port
2 bottles of white wine
2 dl schnapps

Directions

Put the following in a small pot: Kumquats cut in slices, peel from the whole lemon, the ginger, the cinnamon, the vanilla pod cut in half lengthwise (scrape out the seeds and put them in too), sugar and water. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for about ½ hour. Strain and add port, white wine and schnapps. Heat up while stirring, again DON'T let it boil!!

Serve in glasses so you can enjoy the beautiful color. Garnish with sliced kumquats, a piece of vanilla pod and possibly a slice of lemon.
